Parents and Students,
On behalf of the entire staff of Canton Middle School we look forward to welcoming you back for the 2019-2020 school year. It is hard to believe that summer is almost over and it’s about time to return to school. The first day of school will be on Monday, August 19th at 7:55 AM. Monday the 19th will be a 12:30 dismissal, the following school days will be a regular schedule from 7:55am until 2:50 PM.
We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our students can achieve to their highest potential. We recognize that in order for your child to be successful, children need cooperative support from both home and school. Our teaching staff is excited to partner with you this year to make sure that your child receives the best education possible. It is the combined efforts of parent’s enthusiasm and involvement from home and a teacher’s ability to help them learn at school that inspire children to do their best.
Students may pick up their schedules on Thursday, August 15th from 8am until 12 Noon in the Canton Middle School front lobby. Please note, in order to help staff get prepared for the start of school, this will be the only time schedules will be given out.
Parents are not required to come, relatives or friends may bring students. Please be advised that for safety reasons, schedules will only be issued to the student themselves, or the parent or legal guardians.
If you are unable to pick up your child’s schedule on this date, your child will need to report to B Building gym upon arriving to school on the first day. Staff will be in there to assist your child in locating their homeroom class where they will be given a copy of their schedule.
There will be an Open House for 7th and 8th grade students and parents scheduled after school begins, additional information will be sent home regarding this after school starts. If you feel like there is pertinent information that that administration or teachers need to be aware of to help your child be successful, please contact the school counseling office on or after August 13th and the guidance counselors will be happy to assist you.
Please feel free to call the school office at 646-3467 if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to partnering with you to make this 2019-2020 school year a success.
