Softball

CMS Softball Spring 2024

Monday, February 12th & Tuesday, February 13th

Tryouts will be after school and end at 5:00 pm.

Athletes will change in the locker room in the Ledford Gym and walk with a coach to the field. Athletes must bring all of their things with them to the field because you will not return to the locker room or gym. Parents/Guardians, please be prepared to pick your child up promptly by 5:00pm. If you arrive early please remain in the parking lot behind the outfield fence.

What do I need to do to tryout?

All of the below items must be met, completed, and turned into Mr. Sharp in Room A-301 by Friday, February 9th at 3PM in order to tryout.

1. Meet Academic Requirement set by the State of NC

Be an enrolled CMS student in the 6th, 7th, or 8th grade. To tryout participants must meet the minimal l NC Athletic participant regulations. Students must pass at least three of the four required core subjects (only have one “F”) and have been in attendance at least 85% of the previous semester (no more than 13 days) Once the athlete makes the team, they must observe the CMS rules and regulations on grades, discipline, and additional rules set by the athletic department and coach.

2. Physical

Each tryout participant MUST have a physical form completed by a physician (no older than 395 days) on file in order to participate in tryouts. Each participant must have a physical form either already on file at CMS or turned into Coach Sharp by Friday, February 9th at 3pm. If you do not have a physical on file you will not be allowed to tryout. If needed, please see NCHSAA physical form link below.

3. Dragonfly

Each tryout participant must have registered on Dragonfly for the 2024 Softball season. If you have previously registered on Dragonfly, it must be updated for the current softball season and include Softball. See Dragonfly link below to complete or register.

4. Health History (completed on DragonFly)

Each participant is required to have an updated health history form completed and filled out before the first day of tryouts. This will be completed on DragonFly when updated for Softball.
